Irate, then happy
Oct. 26th, 2006 09:27 amI hate it when people phone up and say,
"You probably know me, I used to be Vice-Chancellor of Institution X. I was going to phone up your head of department 'cos we're best buds, but I deigned to slum it with you".
(a) I don't know you. I don't give a shit that I don't know you. And now I don't want to know you. Although I probably knew that already.
(b) My manager would have told you the same information. If he wasn't out-of-office all the time, doing proper work that doesn't involve telling numbnuts losers easily available information.
(c) Or rather, he wouldn't have told you. He'd have just put you through to me, as I'm the current person in the office who actually knows the answer.
Oh - and don't pick up the phone while having and continuing another sad-ass conversation. It's not professional.
And in the worl of nice and sunny - happy birthday to
gwyn_hwyfar, who's been a pleasure to get to know. Have a wonderful day, babe :)
