Gave up on it yesterday so haven't tried.

I'm gonna give it a shot again tonight, but since my desktop is on the verge of dying (processor cooling fan is pretty much dead, and has been for a while) I'm not getting to hopeful about it. I'll probably borrow my roommies USB drive to transfer the PDF versions and see if I can get the scanner to work long enough for a few pictures.

Probably going to end up building a new desktop from scratch.

Broken PCs are one of the few things I lose my temper with in life, especially if it's a software issue. I hope you get it working, but it sounds like you're going to need to rebuild. I built a new desktop about a year ago, and it was almost disappointingly easy :/
