Films: BlacKKKlansman

This was a random watch - I had an unplanned afternoon. I fancied pottering round Gloucester. This was the best thing on at a reasonable time and it was really really good.

It's a Spike Lee movie based on a real life story about a black cop in Colorado who goes undercover and infiltrates the Klan. It's as you'd expect that to be as a Spike Lee movie really - politically adept but also funny. The lead actor is good as the idealistic cop - his facial expressions are bloody priceless at times - and he's got good support from other actors (including Kylo Ren as the Jewish colleague who's basically "white enough" to be the face of the Klan N00b - he's a really good actor). It is funny and enjoyable. It has a strong political message. But that message really kicks in on the last few minutes. Those made me cry.

So, go enjoy. While it's still in the cinemas.
