The only bad point of the whole day was the fact that Nemesis was closed :( OK. Must go sleep.
Went to Alton Towers for the afternoon, which really lifted my spirits :) Went on the following rides:
- DUEL - laser quest combined with a fairly slow "haunted house" type ride. OK, and a good way to start the day.
- AIR (in the Forbidden Valley - if anyone actually wants to look, there are little pictures and movies). Smooth, slick, always my personal favourite.
- HEX (in the actual towers) - this one mashes your head around, and is a close runner-up to Air as far as I'm concerned, just for sheer trippiness :D
- OBLIVION (in the X-sector) - psyched myself for my first attempt at this freefall ride and actually found it quite pleasant. There was a moment of sheer terror when it started the plunge, but the headrush and post-ride exhilaration were amazing! Also had a lucky escape, as the next car got stuck at the top of the plummet :0
- BLACK HOLE (also in the X-sector) - for some reason, this made me feel sick. I've been on it before, it's quite old and rickety, plus I banged my nose :(
- Water ride (Katanga Canyon) - what can you say about water rides? I rode a giant tyre down some rapids and got wet :) Fun, but the only point of note was the fact that the ride photo is the only photo in existence where I'm actually smiling ;)
- Corkscrew (Ug-Land) - Slightly rickety, and I think I'm going to have at least one bruise tomorrow. Got the entire ride to myself though :D
