Can you tell me how to make your favourite salad dressing? I love salad, but it needs pepping up. I'm adventurous, but lazy...

My favorite is to take balsamic vinegar, grapeseed oil (or olive, if you can't find grapeseed oil), add a little wasabi paste and fresh lemon juice to taste and whisk all together. I also love miso dressing in which I use a little olive oil, some red miso paste, a chopped garlic clove and then add rice wine vinegar to thin it out to dressing consistency. Mmmmm.

The Bristol organic fair (mine was a year ago) and a bottle of the insanely posh olive oil (£7 AFAIR) that tasted of lemons, Spanish "Soler Romero". Then sort of do stuff with it. Pretty much anything. Probably using a bit of acidic something, but really the oil does it all on its own.

Another tip is good oil and rice vinegar, possibly with herbs. As the vinegar has no taste of its own, it lets the others through.

As a Heathen Practice in a hurry, bonk the herbs in a few teaspoons of vinegar and nuke-o-wave on lowest for 30 seconds before mixing in. Just don't tell Mr. Tails....

we just grab a ton of basil from the garden, about 1/4 cup chopped, add 2 Tbs fresh oregano, 2 cloves of garlic and 1/4 onion, add some salt and pepper, and then blend it with 1/4 cup olive oil and 2 Tbs vinegar. It works as a marinade for grilled veggies or a dressing - we have Thai basil and lemon basil, so each time it tastes a little different. The other one we like is the same as the ones already suggested - 3 Tbs oil, 1 Tbs vinegar, 1 garlic clove, 1/2 tsp mustard, and salt and pepper. Super easy and does the trick. enjoy :)

I'm very dull - just make standard dressing usually. Good olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, crushed garlic and some mustard powder to help it stay emulsified. Yum.

It's really nice if you use the oil from marinated artichokes and the vinegar from pickled caperberries. I always save the juice from jars.

I won't - nuke-o-wave sounds good to me.

Fresh herbs are good - my garden's overflowing.

I've got loads of jars of pickled stuff from Lidl - I'll use them.
