Bleh. I need to get my head together. At the moment I just seem incredibly tense and paranoid. Not sure exactly why, although I have a few ideas :(

Grumble.

At least you have good music on. :)

Sorry to hear that :/ Hope things look a little better after you get some sleep...

Thanks :) I got two good nights of sleep, and some hiking too, and I'm feeling a whole bunch better for it :)

Definitely :) I love that song so much - it always seems to make me feel better. As it was, I just came back from a hiking trip where I spent the night thinking, getting stoned, staring at the stars and dozing. Which is a wonderful cure for the soul :)

I tried to send some /hugs your way last night but the power went out right as I pressed send. But they were there in spirit!!

Glad you are feeling better :)

Thanks, hun :) I worked it all out (in theory, heheh). I just have to tread a fine line between being true to myself and not hurting anyone else. Although I suspect that's easier than it sounds!

There's a nagging voice in the back of my mind saying "look out for yourself first and foremost, don't worry about how it affects others". Of course this is probably horrible advice, but I just had to say it. :)

Hmm I've never heard that one actually. Nor can I find a trace of its existence in a google search. Where did you find it?

Nah - thanks for passing it on. That's one thing I'm working on - when is it OK to just be selfish? Unfortunately, for me it seems to require a lot of agonising and a lot of trial-and-error.

Actually, it should have a hyphen: en-trance. And it's on Patashnik. If you can't find it, yell.

Heh. I guess I'm ultra selfish, as I would instead pose the question as "when is it not OK to be selfish?". Hehe.

My reponse to your question would be "Always, as long as no one is being murdered, tortured or raped in the process." :P

LOL a hyphen changes everything. So obvious I never would have figured it out. Yah I know the song very well, it's excellent.

Music is wonderful. Most of my happiest moments of bliss are caused by listening to some of my goosebump-causing favourite songs.

Heheh - can I quote you next time I get myself into a sticky situation? ;) What about adultery and lying and stealing and all those other commandments? :P

Actually, don't answer that if you can't be arsed, because those things have all been dwelling on my mind and I'll probably post about it some day soon.

Yeah - I agree. heh - on both counts. Sorry for the missing hyphen :P

I stopped listening to music for a long time, but I'm slowly getting back into it. Problem is, knowing what new stuff to pick, you know? I have absolutely no idea where to start, and I'm hungry, hungry, hungry!

Hehe sure. Just preface it with "Dr. Unsane said..." haha

Ignore them, they are all garbage. Well, try not to steal from the poor. ;)

Heh, I can't fathom that. That's like people who tell me they don't listen to music. I'm just like WTF??

Problem is, knowing what new stuff to pick, you know? I have absolutely no idea where to start, and I'm hungry, hungry, hungry!

Hehe, I'll gladly feed you if you tell me what styles suit your fancy. Recommendation of the day: http://www.digitallyimported.com/chillout/

*grins* Thanks for the advice, Dr Unsane ;)

At least you're not looking pious and edging away - that's a start. Personally I've got a sneaking suspicion that as absolutes, they are all complete trash. I'm slowly developing this philosophy where in a sticky situation, I imagine myself at 80 years old. If at that point I think I'll regret not doing it more than doing it, then I might well just ignore the moral outrage :)

Ah well - the reason I went off music wasn't because I didn't like it any more. I just got sensory overload. I was staying with my parents for a few months in the university vacation, and my brother just literally played volume 10 house music 24 hours a day. And at the other end of the house, my mother would be doing the same with chart music. No sleep, no respite - I spent a long time after that just not being able to listen to anything above a whisper :)

I'm going to check that link out - if you'll feed me more, I'm more than grateful :) Really, the sort of stuff I like could just be summed up as "music you can think to". I think we've enough in common to just leave it at that... thanks! :)

Ah yah perfectly understandable.

A good one that comes to mind immediately is the Substrata album by Biosphere... Just sooooo good, way better than Patashnik IMO.

The first one. However, the second one is 2 cds, which includes the first one. cd2 of the second one is not bad, but I recommend just sticking with Substrata 1.

As absolutes, definitely. The universe doesn't care what we do.
