Phew - busy weekend! I did something on Friday night that I swore I'd remember to make a note of, but now I can't remember what it was. Buttsticks! Oh well, I guess it'll come back to me eventually. Probably when I'm about 80 :P I remember having lunch with my aunt and having a mini online shopping spree ( a couple of books, some cheap japanese prints and a corset-ish thing off EBay), going home and reading some more Jung, most of which goes over my head but the bit that seeps in is good. Then I got home and it all goes blank...

Got up reasonably early on Saturday and drove down to Parkway for the London train, after Steph's usual last minute rush *sigh* Uneventful train journey, good (and reasonable!) hotel. Checked in and chilled out, pottered around an oriental supermarket and trundled down to the Furnival gardens. Note to self - disappointing pier! :D Napped, then woke myself up with super chilli noodles from a nearby Thai restaurant. Then wandered over to the Apollo for Nick Cave. Noticed a really cool sight on the way - this doesn't really do it justice, but when that reflection of the church was all lit up and sunset-y, it looked like some weird warped demon church :)

Nick Cave was really good - so much energy! At one point I thought he was going to shatter into bits or fall off the stage. Played loads of good songs, with an emphasis on the old. Highlights were Tupelo, a good version of Mercy Seat, West Country Girl and Do You love me! Actually - it was all good :) Got a bit hyper, bought a cheap t-shirt on the way out then consumed munchies and a sleeping tablet before grinning woozily at Sky One and suddenly waking up at about 10 o'clock the next morning...

Hmmm. After that, most things would seem lame, but Madame Tussauds really did suck. I'm sure I remember it being less cheesy :P One plus point was getting Sherlock Holmes' business card on Baker Street (?!) and the whole thing was more than compensated for by a trundle around the British Museum. I've never been there before - 'tis great. If you're an archaeology geek 8) Lots of stuff from Nineveh, some *huge* Egyptian statuary, the Rosetta Stone (!!) and Elgin marbles. Plus an exhibition on Art and Memory, which I'd just been reading about in Jung - have to love that feeling of synchronicity!

Anyhoo - photos will eventually turn up on my website. Very tired, but have resolved to go to London more often :)
