I'm not really recumbent, I just want to try out all the various mood icons to see what they look like. And give the impression that I have a varied and exciting range of moods :P
( subsequent edit )I seem to have been very busy over the past few days, but some of the business has had a pleasant air of synchronicity to it. Had a great lunchbreak on Tuesday with my friend in the IT department. She's very relaxing to be around - I find a few people in life that I'm totally comfortable around from the start, and she is one of them. Lots of coffee drinking and mild slagging off of pointless departments ensued :D
Tuesday night was party night, in the way that only going to watch German movies at the local Arts cinema can be. The film
Goodbye Lenin! was quite neat. The story of a son convincing his mother that East Germany is still Communist after she's woken from a coma is a little hard to get into to start with, but I found myself getting really into it. Two great scenes occurred - firstly, when the statue of Lenin is being winched through the streets of Berlin by helicopter, and secondly when the mother's ashes were finally put in a rocket and shot off into the night sky.
And that last part is the bit of synchronicity that leads me onto Wednesday. My main task of the day was to organise a tree for planting Dad's ashes. This has been put off for way too long, which I can totally understand, but somebody had to achieve something with it. Actually, I didn't mind doing it on my own as it's the sort of thing that is easier for me to cope with unilaterally. I combined a visit to the plant nursery with a trip to the Arts and Crafts museum at Cheltenham, which was excellent (thanks
quercus!). I'll post a couple of pictures of the best bits at some point, but it introduced another nice little coincidence in having a book on Arts and Crafts in the Lake District, where I'm off on holiday too in a couple of weeks :)
On the way back, I stopped at a garden centre and picked up a few bits, including a lovely golden False Acacia for dad with a really nice purple pot. So I can sort all that out at the weekend without having to make a stressful rush out of it. I also dropped in on my grandad on the way back and saw my aunty Jean, which was a pleasant added bonus.
Went to a leaving party on Wednesday night, which was OK. I've already whinged to
kidkarrot about the beer quality, so I'll leave my account of the past couple of days at that :P
