Planting Dad's tree
Aug. 24th, 2003 01:00 pmI made a really good job of this, and I'm proud of myself. I had a good hot shower and quietly meditated for about 15 minutes with some myrrh incense before carrying the ashes downstairs.
I'd already prepared a lovely purple pot with compost and soil, so I knocked back a hefty absinthe and scattered a good thick layer of ashes in the pot. This gave me slight wiggins - the ashes had obvious boney bits in :( - but I just kind of ignored it and planted the tree on top. I firmed down the compost and spread a layer of beautiful rose petals on top, weighting them down with plum slate and watering it in. My special sun mug that got smashed a while ago went into the bottom as drainage.
Then I tidied up the area where it was going to go and pushed it into place. All the time, I stayed focussed on my Dad and the good things of the past, finishing with smoking a contemplative cigarette sitting under the tree.
