Landfill - Tim Dee
Mar. 11th, 2019 02:02 pm Luckily when you give
ashlyme a book as an occasiongift, you always get to borrow it back quite soon afterwards. I'd found out about Tim's newest work on a walk by the Avon last year, and it made an ideal gift to someone whose city also throngs with gulls. The book is about gulls, and how they've taken over our cities, but is also about us and how we've enabled this takeover. Our own troubled relationship with urban sprawl and thieving birds.
I can honestly recommend it heartily. I love Tim Dee because he's sharp and frank yet still very human. And because he talks about Bristol. He even talked well enough of gulls to actually give me an interest in them.
