Hey - that's pretty cool 8D Now you've stolen my "working in the same city" thunder :P Actually, I thought of you when I read the article - were you working in the same field? I thought I rememberd something to do with semiotics...

Seems to have been one of those "HP labs" themed days, as they're running an interesting lecture some time in October too :)

I worked in the Digital Media lab, who built ARKive. Now I go to conferences and write bitter and twisted papers about how they didn't do it right. Try it. Search for "whales". Wonder why many of the results returned are sharks...

There used to be a wonderful design group in my department, nearly all Dutch, who did cute stuff with glasses, head-mounted displays and wearable computers. But they got laid-off when I did 8-(

I don't understand semiotics. Although I appear to be co-writing a paper (in Italian!) with an Italian academic who is a proper semiotician.
