These used to be bad, but I nailed them for the most part by cutting out refined sugars. However, the end of last year they started to recur quite frequently at a moderate to severe level i.e. shakes, nausea, cold sweats, about to faint feeling. I'd personally rate this level as a incident where I'm starting to move into inability to drive or look after B in a safe fashion.

They mostly went after the bereavement stress went and detox occurred. But I had a bad one yesterday at work (cold sweats, darkening vision, wobbly legs, nausea) so I'm going to compile longitudinal notes.

Symptoms - cold sweat, dark vision, wobbly, nausea
Food - light tea previous night, egg/toast/fruit bread for breakfast, little caffeine
Exercise - 4 mile run the previous evening
Hormones - menstrual impending :)

Have you checked to see if you're diabetic?

Not yet. I wouldn't rule it out, but as it's an occasional incident and I could still do things like lose weight before getting all medical. Thanks for the thought, though :)

The reason I ask is because that sounds like what I'd been feeling, & still feel occasionally when my blood sugar drops too low. I'd suggest start with a simple blood test. Or you can speak to an eye doctor, as diabetes can be seen through the eyes. Either way, get them done as soon as you can because the results take time to get back to you. Plus, if it does turn out to be diabetes, the sooner you nip it in the bud, the better.
I'm still diet controlled because of how soon it was found.

Ah - I went to the opticians a few months ago. I will bear it in mind though, hon - the idea's much appreciated.

Probably worth mentioning to the doctor at your earliest convenience hon xx

Yeah - I will. I just don't go to the doctor all that often :) So earliest convenience is a bit of a misnomer as it could easily mean next year ;)

I shall reframe then, make an appointment to mention it very soon, if they're as bad as that they're worth having checked out :)

I used to have this happen a fair bit years ago, usually due to acute carb crash if I'd been over doing them....

I like to always have a protein bar or similar with me to avoid these.

If this were me, I'd say it's the fruit bread that was the culprit. Too many quickly-burning carbs. Dried fruit is mostly fruit sugar.

That's a good idea - thx. I was leaning towards fruit loaf myself - my best guess was that I'd tapped all my blood sugar on the previous night's run and breakfast was just a quick fix
