Freaky...

OK - I'm officially freaked out. I almost threw a teary temper tantrum earlier because the price of flights on expedia had sky-rocketed by over £100 since I last looked.

Then I was harumphing around, looking for other cheap flights and becoming disillusioned by the obvious price-fixing of the flight market. Then I found www.globespan.com . Piss-cheap direct flights from local airports all the way through to July.

No paying 500 squids for a flight from bloody heathrow.

...
*looks suspicious*

Let me see if I understand that...

Expedia got more expensive, so you went on the verge of a temper tantrum...

You went searching for cheap flights, and became annoyed at the gouging airlines are currently involved in. Then you found really cheap flights all the way through July on one site.

Hope I got that right.

For some reason most things aren't making much sense to me at the moment (I think My brain is napping). That being said.... Sorry you had such a hard time, glad you found something nice (if I interpreted that correctly, if I didn't, ignore that)...

Where are you going? I probably wasn't paying enough attention, but . . .

I haven't heard of that one before, but then again, I've always taken a bus to Detroit and mostly flown Spirit because it's usually cheaper than a Canadian flight for me. The flights on the cheaper airline always seemed as good as the ones on airlines you've actually heard of, and it was one of the latter ones that somehow put me in Texas anyway. (It's not that I dislike Texas, it's just that I really didn't mean to go there.)

Glad you don't dislike Texas, but I will say Texas is not someplace to be unless you mean to be here. Real easy to get lost and takes a really long time to get out of it when you are...

It's kinda like on of my friends was looking for a flight from San Antonio, TX to somewhere in the Carribean. The only ones he found all had a plane change in Toronto or Chicago or some other place way up there. Seems like poor planning to me, they should all stop here, not the other way around... At least we'd be kind on the way...

I just stayed in the Dallas-Fort Worth airport, and as such, Texas as I know it is all (closed) frozen yogurt and pretzel shops, and maybe two pay phones. Oh, and guys who called me 'babe' and thought nothing of it. It was a pretty strange experience, though flying on July 4th turned out to be a lot easier than I'd expected. I was going to LA, so no idea why it had to be a two-part flight.

Yeah - that's exactly right. I sometimes find stuff like that a bit stressful (hence the sulks if I don't get exactly what I anticipated). But it all worked out for the best, so I was kind of amused at my oscillating emotions. I occasionally like to chart these things, just to remind myself that feelings really are quite random.

I hadn't mentioned it before specifically - I was hoping to go to Toronto/Montreal for a week or so, to chill out and meet some people. But the plane fares were winding me up :p You're right - the cheaper ones are just as good. In my limited experience, anyway.
