Fairly busy day at work, but managed to squash stress to an acceptable level. Repeat to self, "I will not let the bastards grind me down" :) Other than that I've been spending a fair amount of time posting to my favourite Yahoo group. It went dead for a while, but has sprung back to its former happy chatty self and is a great source of company and therapy.

Currently investigating lucid dreaming. I've been having some seriously bad nightmares recently. Maybe lucid dreaming isn't the answer to the problem, but I probably need to try and work through some issues and it seems as good an avenue as any other right now. I'm unwilling to go down the paths of happy tablets or therapy - all I need to do is rediscover my ability to be relaxed and happy.

On a less angsty note, I finished planting out my new plants. Steph's mom is obsessed with lavender, and I seem to be suffering from her overflow, but it does smell nice I guess :D The hosta and ferns in the corner seem to have benefitted from a liberal dose of slug pellets, and the foxglove has shot up. When it all dies back in the Autumn, I'm going to cover the space with rocks and pebbles to squish next year's weeds and keep back the slugs in a chemical-free way. Also, my compost bin seems to have been taken over by ants :(

And NeverWinter Nights is soon available on Linux:

My mom never had lavender in her garden, but she did have lots of fuschias, both hanging and ground-based. Naturally the deer would come and deprive these poor things of all color, leaving them looking like your everyday weed. While laying out drip lines for the ground-based fuschias one day, I recalled that foxgloves are rather poisonous to deer if eaten and can be a cause for skin rash with extended exposure. I jokingly suggested to my mom that she should ring the fuschias with a thick wall of foxgloves.

I hope the nightmares aren't a result of adding me to your friends list. The twitching side effect is never intentional. ;)

They'd probably also develop a pretty peppy heart rate, which could well put them off their food :)

LOL - no problem. The worst you could do is exacerbate any previously existing conditions ;)
