Film review
Jun. 19th, 2004 08:52 pmSpring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring again is a very good film. Simple, beautiful, peaceful. The story of a buddhist monk growing up on a floating temple, how he lives, how he experiences life outside the idyllic retreat. How he atones for his sins.
It really is a beautiful film - each season on the lake is captured, beautiful and distinct. And the gentle rituals of the life of a buddhist monk are echoed in the changing seasons. It's more stuffed feel of beautiful imagery and symbolism than a pod is stuffed full of peas, and left me feeling relaxed, thoughful and happy.
