Woohoo - my little car will pass it's MOT today with less 100 quids worth of work! And better still, I get it back today, which makes getting up at stupid o'clock this morning actually worth it. So glad I was persuaded to switch to Peugeots instead of Fords - that car has cost me almost exactly 500 squids to buy and maintain. A bit more on top of that for tax and insurance but still less than a grand for more than two years motoring.
On a more environmental note, that will also mean I get my keys for the back door back today. Which is good for my tomato plants, which took a frying on the two days I was in Derby and are desperately in need of water. All the big houseplants are sat in the front garden, waiting for the promised rain, and have had a good clean with a spray. Balance has been restored to my little green friends :)
