Oh - and I saw the Lemony Snicket film. I really quite liked it - the set design was good, and it had a modern fantasy air that really appealed to me. As did the girl, Violet, who was very cute :) I think Jim Carrey was a bit OTT, but then, what do you expect from him, really? I wouldn't want to watch lots of these, but just one was pretty enjoyable.

Oh good. I kind of wanted to see this one for very much the same reasons you mentioned - modern fantasy air especially. Really wanted to see Life Aquatic with Bill Murray. This weekend we got a foot of snow. Maybe next week. :)
