I like to think there's no such thing as addiction. That makes it easier to get un-addicted methinks. Then again I may just have it easy and have a non-addictive personality or something...
I used to smoke as much as I want, and never feel a craving. If I ran out of money I quit and never missed it.
Not that way anymore. Quitting smoking involves a lot of being light headed and nauseous. That's the physical side. Actually feels a lot like I haven't eaten in several days. Psychologically it's a bit easier, if I really want to try. But I still need something to fidget with, etc.
I've seen people have just as bad a reaction during withdrawal from caffeine and sugar as well. And I've known people who have died from withdrawal from harder drugs, though I wasn't even remotely close with any of them (friends of my brothers friends that I'd met once or twice, etc). That and I've met way too many sex addicts for my taste ;)
