Jun. 25th, 2003 10:15 pmWheee! Got back from Liverpool earlier then I expected :)
Train journeys were OK - on the way up, it was fine as far as Brum. Got on a delayed Virgin train and was fed free coffee, so expect reports of Branson's bankruptcy any day now :D Then spent 55 mins in Spew Street station getting gassed by train fumes. Started hallucinating as a result, and was convinced I went passed a station called Smellwick on the way out of Brum *blinks* Saw nice churches as I whizzed through Penkridge and Runcorn, and the Mersey was beautiful. Ate good Thai dinner (pumpkin cakes - mmmm), drank too much wine and crashed out in my hotel room to the sound of police sirens...
The business part of the trip was fine - didn't really need to be done, if someone I worked with had an IQ larger than their shoe size *sighs* Trip back was slow and panicky (made my connection to Bristol with about 10 seconds to spare, then the train wasn't sure if it was going to stop at Parkway!). Heard a neat story about a man's cat getting stuck under his floorboards for 7 weeks and still surviving - it must have lived on condensation and spiders! Seem to have written in my notepad that I should get off the train as quickly as possible!!!
OK - I'm fairly dazed and have a busy, sucky day at work tomorrow. I'm off for an early night...
