Everything is done before I go on leave in...(checks)... 39 minutes. Thought that wasn't going to happen due to last minute Excel modelling glitches, but it's all done and I can go away with a clear conscience :)

Had a funny dream last night where I went round to visit ninneviane and jo_kat. Nothing special happened - just normal "visiting and drinking tea" type stuff, but it amused me *waves*

Now I'm in a generally good mood - I have a week's leave and I made a good decision with regards to my OU course. As I've made a resolution to get up before midday at least some of the time that I'm on holiday, I think I might attack the garden tomorrow and plant the rest of my bulbs :)

Talking of books, today I finished Great Expectations, one of the books for "the course that never was" (see yesterday's posts). It was OK, especially as I'm not a Dickens fan. I liked the characterisation of the main character - the way Pip described himself in such an unconsciously hyporcritical way was so amusingly true-to-life - you could see the conceitedness of his good opinions bursting through in the way he spoke, and I thought that was well done. I thought many of the other characters were fairly one-dimensional though - if Joe Gargery said "ever the best of friends, us was Pip" once more, I was going to throw the book out of the train window! :P I was fond of Magwitch, though, and got quite teary when he died. It's been my least favourite of the four novels I have to read - I far preferred both Pride and Prejudice and Fathers and Sons
