I suddenly realised just how fed up I am with carrying so much crap around with me. I just don't need it all.

In fact, all I need is wallet, keys, purse, phone, small notebook + pen, diary, paperback. I could fit all that into a much smaller bag.

So - note to self = get my small green bag back and use that instead!

Hmm. I'm tempted by the pocket, as I need to keep things separate, or I get all cranky. How much (roughly) do you reckon one would be?

Completly depends on the materials. I've made some where it's black lined with a black & silver cobweb mesh over it & plane black velvet with either red or black lining. Pocket's are optional but they would fit either credit/debit cards & some mobile phones

I had a blue velvet drawstring purse that I used for several years until it fell to bits, and it was quite a delicate velvet, so I think you'd be fine. All I really require of a purse is that its strap be long enough to cross my chest.

Beats the male approach of having heavily full pockets (phone, keys, wallet, change)that pull your trousers into strange shapes. And always leaves you without reading or writing material.
