Well, one of the unexpected advantages of giving up smoking is that it seems to have made me very susceptible to the effects of other drugs. One cup of coffee sends me hyper, one glass of wine and I'm pretty drunk.

I was fairly assertive in my business group this morning, and took the time out of small group discussions on our business plans. Instead I actually wrote my business plan, which is pretty near finished.

Last night I watched Mirrormask. It was great. Completely trippy, and therefore what I'd expect from Neil Gaiman. The only negative point was that the main actor was a bit "stage school".

I've heard conflicting reports about Mirrormask. A few different people have said that it was something of a triumph of style over substance, that it was aesthetically amazing but there wasn't really much of a story to go along with it. I still definitely want to see it though, and am extremely excited about the upcoming film of Stardust as well. (I'm also excited about Anansi Boys although after buying the limited edition signed version (half price, woohoo!) I'm a little wary of actually reading it...)

And it's interesting that you've found a reduced tolerance to other drugs since giving up tobacco, what with tobacco being the only credible candidate for 'gateway drug' so far (it's effects on dopamine levels make other drugs far more pleasurable than they would otherwise have been).

Yeah - definitely worth watching. And mymetabolism might be slightly screwed up from my youth of excess, but things are definitely stronger. That might just be because I'm generally slightly out of it. I'll see if it lasts. It's not unpleasant :)
