Next time someone asks, the baby's either going to be called Beowulf, or Grendelina :)

More soberly, the next time someone bitches at me for not sending my mum a birthday card on Friday, I'll gently point out to them that they left her to dehydrate in a pool of piss and vomit on her living room floor. Ergo, if I hadn't carried her into hospital on Monday afternoon, the money spent on a card for Friday would probably have been somewhat wasted.

It's always Beowolf, and never Hrothgar!

Well, I *like* Hrothgar, but it's just one of those old man names, isn't it? ;)

You think he'd have the mickey taken at school, unless you give him a sensible name like Beowolf? I reckon it builds character!

Heheh - I just don't want the other kids to pick on him.

Well, I suppose a sensible 'modern' name like Beowolf is probably the best bet!

Hey, those are great baby names :D in fact, I'm surprised my husband didn't insist on naming one of our girls Grendelina (and it would have been a fitting name for my youngest daughter, but don't tell her I said that.)

And that logic sounds perfect to me!

LOL - I think they're good names, but sprog will probably have something more sedate in reality.

And thanks for the logic support - I was getting really stressed out about the criticism and lack of help, then realised that I was in fact pretty much the only person who really is a friend to my mum. I'm the one who solves the problems, does the dirty work and gives her what she actually needs, rather than trying to stay "friends" and keeping my hands clean.

I dare you to start passing satellite weather charts off as sonograms.

It must be really nice living in a world where sending a card trumps getting up off your ass and doing something.

Yup - would make my life simpler if I lived there too. I met a couple who had one of those fancy 3d baby scans - they've got a DVD and everything!

Fine names for off-spring I reckon! :)

Yeah, too right and so you should if someone's been bitching, what is wrong with people! :/

Ach - they're lost for someone to bitch at and blame now my dad's passed on. God forbid that their slef-righteous asses could possibly be even slightly to blame for not noticing their daughter/sister was a serious alcoholic for the past 20 years.

'Ooh, have you thought of any names yet?'
'Yes, we thought Ermintrude'
'Oh'
*smiles*

'what if it's a boy?'
'Ermintrude. We really like it for either'
*smiles*

Ahh - I see we have similar tactics to avoid ante-natal nosiness...
