The neighbours over the road are being arseholes about their new drive. Seriously - I'm a considerate person and literally parked about one wheel's width over the edge of the drop kerb, leading to a mental note threatening to tow me away next time. This is the biggest drop kerb you've ever seen, probably not legal, and the drive was totally accessible. I can totally appreciate that they want their drive kept clear, but I also don't see myself getting that huffy as long as I could get in and out. So I'm annoyed. Grr. Etc.

And again it's impossible to cover a work day in a couple of weeks time. This job just ain't working for me any more.

*grump*

What is a "drop" curb kerb?

Where the kerb is dropped to road level - either for a pedestrian crossing or to allow cars to traverse the pavement to access private drives.

would be interesting to know what a lawyer would make of that.. cause as far as i am aware having a dropped kerb does not actually legally stop sombody parking in front of it. (As you don't suddenly start owning the road and the pavement just because the kerb has been droped for your car)

its normally accepted to social norms to not park in front of a drive but it is not actually a legal issue.. and towing you away for doing it would proberbly therefore be theft unless they own the road...

Yeah - I think this too. I don't think the police will care unless you are causing an obstruction. Which I'm obviously not, as she got her car out anyway. And private towing is just theft.

As far as I am aware you need council permission for a drop kerb, you can't just put them in yourself. It was my understanding you have to apply to local council (the highways section) for permission to do it yourself (after which they send o.

Report them have the matter investigated - I would ;)

Don't know what happened to the rest of "(after which they send o." :D That should have said 'after which they send someone to inspect and pass off the work. Decided to google it, here in Birmingham I wasn't quite right, but very nearly...

I would imagine it's the same everywhere though.

I was just going to go over and burn things or be sarcastic.
Which would have been more fun that our way ;D
