New FF game!
Spent the morning walking on the hills near Cam. Absolutely brilliant, due to blasting gale of wind (I could barely breathe) and brilliant sunny weather.
Must...eat...food...
EDIT for photo.

Date: 2003-11-05 02:23 pm (UTC)I presume you've played the others, then? And yeah, more flexibility would be neat. It's never really grated on my nerves in the other games in the series, but they are still quite linear.

Date: 2003-11-05 02:58 pm (UTC)I agree that the games were fun even though they were linear (they had enough side stuff), but X was too linear. We never managed to get to the point where you had a choice. Can't even go backwards through all the areas cause they block parts off. We like flexibility.
But then again we've been enjoying Xenosaga which is much more linear than even X... Mostly we just got burned out of Squaresoft.

Date: 2003-11-06 05:46 am (UTC)Oof - I know. I finished 9 OK (with aching arms though), but Sephiroth kicked my arse a couple of times before I finally killed him. Which does make 8 seem very easy, although I do like pottering through it in the evenings, collecting all the obscure GFs and so on. And yeah - X was way too linear. I got a bit fed up with it to be honest. My friend finished it for me, bu I never quite got around to it. I've played the older ones on an emulator, but couldn't really get into them.
What other games have you got? I'm afraid you opened a whole can of worms here - I'm a bit of a compulsive gameplayer :P

Date: 2003-11-06 07:40 am (UTC)Also we found a great strategy game for PS1 called Brigandine. Very simple and very fun. We're looking for a PS2 game close to it in style.
We haven't had the PS2 long so we only have Dark Cloud, FFX, and Xenosaga for it.
Course we also play Civ-3 and various RTS over our home LAN, and we each have gameboys with a few various games (Zeldas, YuGiOh EDS, believe it or not Pokemon, and a few others he has that I don't remember).

Date: 2003-11-06 10:20 am (UTC)lol. I have to admit that I can't get into sports games at all. I blame it on childhood trauma (other than PE at school ;)) - spent way too much pocket money on replacement joysticks for playing Daley Thompson's Decathlon!
I liked Vagrant Story. And Civ is a classic, although I mostly stick to online Unreal Tournament. Can't get anyone into Civ :( I've not got that many PS2 games - Turok 3 (although I didn't really like that), FFX and the Silent Hill ones. I love those.
