random Friday afternoon thoughts
Nov. 7th, 2003 03:20 pm- holy crap - I'm bored!
- coloured contact lenses are much cheaper than I thought - I'm torn between green and aqua.
- finally I've organised myself into getting a haircut.
- last night, for the first time in months, I actually felt some joy at life. Which is odd. I think I'm starting to cope again.
- I think "finding nemo" and mexican are in order for the weekend
- I also must remember to blag my brother's matrix video and a CD I want to borrow
- I have one huge email to reply to that I've been looking forward to for a few weeks now - I promise myself that I will do that at the weekend
- I just hit "snooze" for the 15th week running on a really boring task :P
- I treated myself to a new CD :) It's Friday, I'm bored and knackered, I've had a shit week - I'm going to indulge in some retail therapy, dammit!
- 87 minutes until home

Date: 2003-11-27 06:15 am (UTC)Unfortunately, everywhere other than Canada seems to have a size limit on file transfer through YM. But I can dump either the CD image (if you have a CD burner) or the constituent MP3s on my webspace.

Date: 2003-11-27 07:45 am (UTC)hah yes that's true. I suppose it can still be done, on CD, but what with access to thousands of mp3s it seems kinda moot.

bah in that case IRC or something should be fine.

I have a CD burner but I haven't used audio cd's in several years. :P mp3cd player only, and even that I haven't used since i converted to the darkside (laptop). :)

Let me know if the links don't work. Also let me know if some of them are a bit crap - I had to rip them at quite low quality to fit them in my webspace, but I'll redo them if you particularly like any of them :)

Date: 2003-11-30 08:45 am (UTC)64kbps gah! hehe. Had I known I'd a told you to ship me 'em thru IRC. No worries tho, it's surprisingly very listenable even at this quality.
gracias, grazie, dankenshun, merci, etc.

Date: 2003-12-15 03:05 pm (UTC)Brings back memories...
The Zelda games on N64 (along with mario) were the first games to really be immersive enough for me to get really into to the level I want (VR-style), almost like a vivid enough fantasy world. I've not played the Gamecube one, but since it's more cartooney I doubt it would have the same effect on me.

Date: 2003-12-18 07:31 am (UTC)*sighs* I want to be Link and play in Zelda-land. I remember the moment when I finally grew up and realised that I was never going to learn magic or fly or enter one of the lands inside my books. Very disillusioning.

Date: 2004-01-14 12:19 am (UTC)Heh I think they ended up not going with the cartooney style I thought they did... It looks a lot more normal polygon-ish than previews I saw way back. The previews I'd seen looked more pastel than the cel-shaded that it is/became.
I just searched for some images of what I'm talking about and I'm beginning to wonder if I imagined all this, and that in fact the original previews were cel-shaded as well, and I just found it too weird back then but got used to it...
*sighs* I want to be Link and play in Zelda-land.
Ah, but you can! In fact, I just had such a dream last night. It was an almost identical replica of the fight with the big boss Poe in Ocarina of Time. Too cool! It kinda morphed after that, the floor was giant balloons that I had fun jumping on and bouncing really high. :)

Date: 2004-01-14 12:31 pm (UTC)*nods* I get that sometimes. very annoying - you could have just sworn it was green, now it's mysteriously black...

*droool* I loved poes. And the guy in the hut by the castle door, that used to be a bored guard, but then turns into a tripped out poe salesman :D

I'm jealous of your dreams :(

Date: 2004-01-14 07:25 pm (UTC)Heh. I'm sure my dreams would be hella boring if I were working a 9 to 5 office job as before. :/

Date: 2004-01-27 03:42 pm (UTC)Yeah I know exactly what you mean.
Generally I don't reply to something until I've chewed on it for a while. Which is why it sometimes takes me a couple weeks to answer things. Of course the downside to that is an eternally large inbox (62 right now). The problem is that the oldest ones in my box are the most complex, and so it's hard to ever completely finish all of them.
If the subject matter is simple I'll usually reply ASAP.
Re:
Date: 2004-01-29 08:13 am (UTC)Yikes - and there I was panicking at my inbox post-vacation. Guess I'm being too J-ish ;) I mostly trash them after a couple of months, and trust they'll resurface if the subject was important...
Re:
Date: 2004-02-16 09:46 pm (UTC)Heh I definitely don't risk that. I do that with trivial subjects, but not stuff that I'm interested in.
Re:
Date: 2004-02-17 08:36 am (UTC)Trust in the power of synchronicity... you know you want to... don't resist...
*wiggles fingers hypnotically*
Seriously though, I tend to just recycle the important ones into posts of my own.
