Dec. 10th, 2003 09:15 pmThe weather today was exceedingly cool. It was unexpectedly cold, and I think their must have been a little hail in the night. When I woke up, the road outside was white, and I thought it must have snowed. When I looked closer, it was only frost, but a weird and clammy foggy frost and it stayed dark until mid morning. Then it cleared up - little smears of pale blue sky appeared and the sun came out, although it stayed chilled and smokey. I saw a wonderful thing as I walked to the shops - a frozen web that suddenly shattered and vapourised as I was watching it. The sun touched it, and pft! it was gone. The sun was very localised though - I drove to the cinema and the road was shrouded in fog just a few miles away. Then a few miles later it gre sunny again. When the sun went down over the hills, the sky was pale pink and orange, but the darkened valleys and hillsides were shrouded in fog.
