insomnia....

On a similar note to my earlier post, I was thinking about films and books. All those hidden plot details and important things that you only notice on repeated viewings... (as context, I recently watched the commentary for Vanilla Sky). I was wondering whether those are really there, or do they just seem to be there when we've seen the whole and can look back with the benefit of hindsight? If we lived backwards, it seems to me we'd get just as many pleasant surprises, but the bad things would gradually increase in intensity then suddenly disappear.

This is the sort of thing I think about when I can't sleep - I need saving from myself!!! *grins*
