I was listening to the radio this morning - some Radio 4 newsman interviewing Geoffrey Hoon. I'd forgotten how good Radio 4 was until I had a day off sick earlier in the week. And this guy Hoon was doing the politician trcik of just mumbling round and round a subject without having a definite opinion, and it annoyed me that he could do that about somebody's death. I'm not at all pro-military, but the guys are doign a job and need certain equipment. The fact that there doesn't seem to have been enough is a scandal, but never fear, I have the solution...
This is very simple: close down the huge and snazzy MOD procurement centre near where I work. Selling this would realise a huge amount of capital, especially with the value of property in Bristol at the moment. Use a large amount of this capital to buy people body armour if they have to go and be shot at. Then, whenever an MOD office runs out of pencils, delegate someone to nip down to Office World and buy some :p Or better still, Asda - their stationery is nifty... I'm going to retract some of my previous hatred of IKEA, cos if you steal one of their little pencils and get a mini-pad from Asda for 9p, you have an excellent and very portable scribble pad for ideas :)

Ooo...my friend just brought my hairbrush into work for me - I can brush my hair now :p There was an office party type thing last night. It was OK - the food was good value for money, our boss kindly paid for the wine, and I got to leave at 9. Busy weekend ahead, moving mother, so I'm going to take it very easy this evening. Maybe put some photos online and watch Shrek on DVD :) Also, I forgot I had two courses coming up soon - Anglo-Saxon English and Arts and Crafts gardens. On a sunny day like today, life really doesn't seem so bad :)

On a sunny day like today

Oh lucky you! Haven't seen the sun in 4 days, the streets are all slick (something like 2000 auto accidents in 2 days) and there's been a large amount of fog. Doesn't seem right!

Mmm - we've had gales and rain for the past week, so sun is a nice change. And maybe the washing hung out in my garden will finally dry?
