Not-jobs

I saw a job I could apply for online today. Looked interesting and achievable (database manager for the HIV team in my local NHS). But you know what? I just can't be arsed to apply. I know I haven't applied for that many jobs, but all those I have applied for, I've not got. I've been second choice every time with feedback along the lines of you were good, but someone else was just better. I guess I don't interview too well.

The other reason is that it's 15 hours a week and I just can't be going through the ins-and-outs of trying to arrange childcare for that. It just ain't worth trying unless the job is worth my putting the offspring into nursery for, and what job is worth that?

Monty Don's personal assistant with unlimited access to cake, gin and recreational substances of my choice?

Probably that. But probably if I'm honest I'm just not career motivated enough to keep on trying to go there, even for jobs which, like this one, look quite interesting. I'm tired of trying to justify what I consider my realistic and pragmatic attitude towards work in general to try and inspire people (including myself) to get on my side.

More cheerfully, though, the gardening work is really taking off. The lady I garden for has suggested two more clients for me. Now I just need to get motivated to phone them up and sort it out :)

In other news, my note to self is that I need to do some head-work on a few issues.

Don't you just hate it when you get the best present ever for someone, then someone else usurps it. Peh :(

Anyway, having a great week in the garden - loads of clearing and pruning. Yoga was also brilliant.

Waiting to hear back from a job tomorrow. Reading between the lines, they're interviewing someone else early this week and whether I get it depends on whether that person wants it to be part-time. Really wanting the job, so fingers crossed. Couple of other leads opening up too.

Ben pulled the "G" key off my keyboard. It still works ok, but I'm irresistibly drawn towards the gap....
