Dec. 31st, 2003 04:17 pm1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
Ehm. Went on a vertical drop rollercoaster, gave a speech at a funeral, went to the Lake District.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't make them - if it needs fixing that badly, fix it right away. Saying that, I want to make some "lifestyle changes" next year.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope - my friends are strangely sterile :)
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes - I lost my dad in May.
5. What countries did you visit?
Heh - I was recovering from the excitement of a trip to the US in 2002, so stayed in England.
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
Inner peace.
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
15th May - that was the day I found out my dad died. I felt as if I'd been violently kicked off a cliff, and haven't yet entirely lost that feeling. Hence my answer to number 6.

See answers to question 1, plus getting promoted without either having to extrovert or kiss ass.

Heh. Pardon? The best material thing I acquired was a couple of good photos of places I visited.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My two best friends in real life - Steph and Mark. Numerous colleagues after my dad died. And some of the friends I've never met - everyone reading this was added to my friends list for a reason, and I value and appreciate you all. The new LJ-people are mentioned below, but I particularly value the three peeps who are on INFP-20-somethings - you know who you are, so I won't single you out :)
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Bleh - the world in general. Several closer people behaved appallingly after Pa died, but I'll ascribe that to grief being a strange thing.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Heh - it didn't. Technically, most of my money gets saved each month, but the part that doesn't gets spent on mortgage, food and nicknacks.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Losing weight, going on Oblivion at Alton Towers, seeing Nick Cave and climbing Skiddaw.

23. How many one-night stands?
None.
24. What was your favorite TV program?

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003.
All this shall pass.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
