May. 20th, 2004 03:59 pmWell well well.
So I'm back from Cambridge and it didn't all go so badly. The colleague I went with was lovely, and we got on well and are going out for a drink some time. Which was part of what prompted the last post - I always end up feeling bad that I can get on OK with new people, and I get to this certain level of friendship and just clam up.
I guess when I start to care about someone, I start to admire them *too* much and get shy. But then if I didn't care, then I wouldn't care. I could tie myself up in logical knots for that one, so I'm just going to resolve to make the effort to be a bit more open.
I also ate some grass jelly, which was distinctly weird. And bought a bunch of cheap CDs. I spent an evening at the pub with some people I didn't really know and was quite sociable. It always surprises me when I manage not to act like a total f*ckwit :)
Someone wrote me some really nice feedback for my performance review at work :D It was so sweet - they seemed to really like me, and used loads of flattering adjectives to describe things that I actually do like about myself. Which is another thing that always surprises me - people seeming to actually like me as a person.
That'll make up for the total insult I got this morning.
Relationships piss me off >:(
This entry is actually less disjointed than my brain :P
