Last seven days...

You know, I don't really remember what I've been up to at all. It's like there are a bunch of snatches of visual memories stacked in my brain, and no real coherence.

Very strange.

I know I went to a jazz and bluegrass festival on Friday, which was in a big barn. It was really enjoyable - a local band that I've seen before, and a band that are somehow linked to the hotel I went to stay at in pembrokeshire.

Small world, really.

I think I went to see the League of Gentlemen film on Saturday. It's all sketchy, but I'm sure I remember eating a huge chocolate sundae with 0ct0pus, and watching the film, that was quite a lot better than I originally thought it would be.

And I had nice thai dinner from a local takeaway.

On Sunday afternoon, I had to travel up to Manchester for a work trip. The train was hell - only three carriages, and it was diverted all through Newport. And I left my book in one of those stretchy webbings on the back of the seats.

*sniff*

The upside was that the train went along the west bank of the Severn all the way up to Gloucester, and it was a beautiful ride. I enjoyed Manchester. It was nice to go back, to drive past street signs to my old home district, to do a little tourism, to be in a city on balmy evenings and enjoy tasty Japanese food.

Part of me loves living in a city. Part of me hankers for the country. I'll have to have two houses, or just live in the suburbs.

Hmmm. Probably the former.

The Japanese food WAS really good.

And I even did some clothes shopping.

Not sure how a work trip can be relaxing, but it worked for me.

The trip back on the train was also quite lovely. Beautiful golden light, lush golden-green fields, and puffs of English looking trees. I even saw a row of lupins in a nursery garden. They were painted on, like a row of spikey little furled umbrellas.

Do we remember every thing we see? Or does our brain filter out the crap? Or what it thinks is crap - I'd hate to know the moment when that lupin field disappeared.

Yes. I can happily report that there is. Did you see the third series? I didn't really rate it, so I was pleasantly surprised by the film.

Sometimes I have weeks like that... You know that it's just happened; but you can't actually remember most of it.
In fact, I think I have *years* like that!

Well done in finding relaxation on a business trip too :)
