OMG - teh retail pain!

This is why I don't go shopping. Had to make a dash into the city centre to get presents for the in-laws. In-laws are coming down to visit tomorrow, and in their own inimitable style, let me know what they wanted for Christmas late yesterday afternoon. And woe betide if they're not wrapped and properly labelled... Which just leaves today to drive, shop and wrap.

I'm not at my best today - Monday and Tuesday were spent either vomiting or looking after somebody else who was vomiting. I've mentioned the emetophobia before, right? And Wednesday was spent feeling like I might vomit. Today I just have tummy cramps, so definitely on the mend.

Anyhoo. Neither am I any good at shopping. Well, I'm good in that I'm extremely focused - 3 shops, 1-2 purchases in each, with child in tow.

Took me 3 hours. Three hours of pain. Three hours of being pushed and shoved out of the way, queueing for lifts and having people push in in front of me at the last minute because they're wankers special.

Strewth. If I didn't still feel queasy, I'd be having a stiff drink.

I can't believe how every store is suddenly overloaded with Xmas-y stuff - even music in the grocery store! It's not even December yet, people!!

Yes - pretty exactly, after some coyness that took us right to the day before they arrived. Everyone orders gifts from me - I don't like it, to be honest. For my brother's GF, I even have to phone her specially to tease a gift out of her. Wouldn't mind, but it's always people that set a big value on getting gifts that put me through this.

Stores are grim. I just unloaded about half a ton of baubles at work :((
