Managed to overcome some major avoidance to phone my mom's social worker and do a few other "mom welfare" related human interactions. I'm starting to think that maybe I'm more of an INFJ than an INFP - not doing anything when I'm pissed off at the world is just frustrating, depressing and self-defeating.

Did a little window-shopping at PC world yesterday, then had dinner with a friend. Good time was had by all, and my eye was caught by a dinky little photo-printer.

I love window shopping for computers. Wish I could afford more stuff, then life would be so much fun!

This has nothing to do with anything, but I can't stand Marilyn Manson's original music. He's covers are awesome (sweet dreams, tainted love) but not a fan of his original songs. Most people disagree with me, except of course my roommate and my ex.

I've never been particularly drawn to any Manson music, but after seeing a couple of his videos, I have to say I appreciate the imagery that he incorporates into his dark style. He's quite good in portrayal, even if I don't entirely understand what he's trying to do. ;)

Quite true. Most of his videos are very errr.... visual? I'd rather watch them on mute, or even mute the video and watch them in time to Pink Floyd or Beethoven, but still interesting.

heh - definitely. I passed on the printer - I could *just* afford it, but I'd be left poor for the next week or two. Maybe next month... *sigh*

I partly agree with you. I like his covers a lot, but can't stand one of his albums (forget the name). Mechanical Animal is OK, but then I usually cut straight to the chase with some David Bowie ;) Out of interest, what stuff do you like?

I'm very ecclectic. I listen to mostly things like Linkin Park and Nickleback. I'm a big Will Smith, Bon Jovi, and REM fan. I love Colin Raye. Tchaikovsky is my favorite composer. Alabama ranks up there as well. I also listen to crazy stuff like Rusted Root, Traci Bonham, a few techno-club-mixes.

So to recap, I listen to Metal (Slayer rocks), Alternative, Hard Rock, Classic Rock, Country, Rap, R&B, Classical, Techno, Indie... I'll give anything a shot.

Tchaikovsky is my favorite composer.

Very cool - his violin concerto is probably one of my favourite pieces of music. Eclectic is good - I get that myself - but be specific... what are ten tunes you couldn't live without?

Hmmm, a challenge....

In no particular order:

1) Fiona Apple - The First Taste
2) Vivaldi - The Four Seasons (Spring in particular)
3) Counting Crows - Anna Begins
4) Sytem of a Down - Arials
5) Colin Raye - Little Rock
6) Stabbing Westward - Save Yourself
7) Barenacked Ladies - Who Needs Sleep
8) Bon Jovi - Always
9) Rusted Root - Send Me on My Way
10) can't decide... Mr. Big - To be with You or Rammstein - Klavier...

Now turn about is fair play so what about you?

Ooo - I like Vivaldi too! And System of a Down, although I don't think I know that song - I'm limited to their MP3s that I've "borrowed" from the net. I don't really know any of the rest.

Now turn about is fair play so what about you?

Umm - OK. About half of these would vary, about half are pretty constant:

  1. Thin White Rope - Elsie Crashed the Party
  2. David Bowie - ALl the Madmen
  3. Pink FLoyd - Emily Plays
  4. Lou Reed - Perfect Day
  5. Sigur Ros - Svefn-G-Englar
  6. Mozart's Requiem (any bit)
  7. Godspeed You Black Emperor - East Hastings
  8. Elgar Cello Concerto
  9. The Who - Dr Jimmy
  10. King Crimson - 21st Century Schizoid Man

Nice list, at least what I'm familiay with. Mozart's very cool, and pink floyd rocks.

System of a Down, although I don't think I know that song

Arials is a very common song at least here. Was the third single released from the Toxicity album (after Chop Suey and Toxicity). Very cool song.

Mine changes a lot too, Sometimes Red Hot Chili Peppers (Under the Bridge and Aeroplane), Bush (Everything's Zen (don't know if that's the name of the song, but its what I remember it as)), Steve Miller (The Joker), or Paul Simon (50 ways to leave your lover) jusmp into it.

A few others as well.

Yeah - some of it was a bit obscure. And some of it was a bit old :P I like the older Pink Floyd stuff, but not so much of their recent work. I think I have that "System of a Down" album, actually... I'll go and check it out tonight :)

Yeah, old pink floyd is cool. I'm still looking for things like Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs (Little Red Riding Hood) and a few other really old tunes. Really need to burn myself a compilation CD. Then i could really rock out to my own little world.

*nods*

I bought Ummagumma recently, just for Careful with the axe Eugene :P Now I'm after Echoes to try and get a few other ones (noteably Bike - I used to have that on tape, but it went mouldy :()
