Lots of little things
Dec. 12th, 2003 09:49 amStaff party today. Which means that every female in the building seems to be showing excessive cleavage :) Obviously I've entered fully into the festive spirit in my sexy little outfit of black jumper and ankle-length green skirt with chunky boots. Much like the sexy little outfit I wear every day to work, in fact :p
I'm not good with clothes...
I'm just waiting on the weekend. I'm off to see a cartoon at the Watershed tomorrow, plus my Pink Floyd album came, so I have that and two compilations from a friend to gorge on over the weekend. And very few obligations - a few presents left to wrap and shopping for my mum. I'll try and get out for hiking somewhere.
Also ran out of St John's Wort. This was partly deliberate - I'm not even sure that it does much for me, so why keep taking it? We'll see how that works out anyway. Oh yeah - and I got a week's leave near the end of January **bounce bounce bounce**. Didn't think I was going to get that signed off.
I keep getting Christmas cards from people I never met *boggle*

Date: 2003-12-12 12:33 pm (UTC)Mmm. I think women get it easier. There isn't a dress code at work - most guys where trousers/shirt/tie. The tie's not really mandatory. If you wear a suit then you look a bit smart. Women tend to wear more relaxed things. heh - some of it I wouldn't wear as leisure clothes... too skimpy... brrr 8D My friend gets bespoke suits. I just get my stuff from really cheap chain stores. Not really into clothes.
I have to say "sweet" on the cartoon and Pink Floyd
Mmm. I have See Emily Play, Arnold Layne, Bike and Set the Controls on repeat at the moment. Very sweet.
Course I still need to quit smoking before I can get real healthy...
Yeah. I quit, then I took it back up again *shrugs* I took the Johns Wort to get me through a mini-breakdown 18 months ago. Not sure that it helps, so it's time to try not having it. Feel crap today, but mainly due to being slightly drunk and going through a staff party.
Got a "work" card from Durham University. Not sure if I've ever even spoken to them :p And one from some people I rented a flat from for a holiday.

Date: 2003-12-12 12:52 pm (UTC)Lucky you. Technically our dress code is full business attire. For men that means jacket, tie, shirt, the whole ball of wax. I'm the only one who even bothers to wear a dress shirt, the other guys wear polo style most of the time (this of course does no include the big wigs who actually deal with customers, they need to make an impression).
I quit, then I took it back up again
Know that feeling. In the last year I've actually quit 3 times. The first time mom went into the hospital. The second, mom died. The third gf dumped me. I keep thinking that means I should keep smoking, but I figured out I spend over 1,000.00 a year on smokes. That's 2 months mortgage...
