Took a sick day - by the time I had to get up, I'd only had about two hours light sleep and I know for a fact that with 5 hours of passive meetings, today isn't going to be very productive. I think IKEA made me ill - perhaps I should sue?

It's a nice day. Sunny and all that. Oh - my seeds came too:

Honesty: Introduced from Europe some 400 years ago and being particularly popular in Victorian times, Honesty is well known for the silvery, moon-like remains of the seed cases that are so useful for drying and using in arrangements. Attractive bright purple flowers, May to July. 2½ ft.

Vegetable Spaghetti, Winter Squash, Gourd: This is a fascinating and interesting item. Looking and grown, as easily, just like a plump, pale yellow Marrow, the mature fruits are boiled for about 20 minutes and then cut in half. And, hey presto – you have a plateful of spaghetti to do with as you would that pasta, such as serve with a meat or tomato sauce or just with butter and seasoning.

Might make myself a new garden related user-pic :)

Well, at least I know I didn't make you ill, as that would be difficult through the internet eh?

Personally I ain't doing too terribly well today. I think I managed to get worse, and even picked up a new symptom. I seem to have lost my voice mostly (I''m guessing too much gunk stuck to my voice box).

perhaps I should sue?

*chuckle* gawd, I hope you're kidding. We get lots of lawsuits like that. People suing some driver because an accident he caused made them late for work and their boss yelling at them for being late caused them emotional distress. People suing because they spilled coffee on themselves and the person who gave it to them didn't warn them it was hot (that case was actually won, not most places put "contents are hot" printed on every cup... I'm waiting for someone to sue because they left their coffee sitting around until it got cold, but the cup still says its hot so its misleading information..). I get rather sick of hearing about them.

Aww. I lost my voice once (too many drinks/menthol fags/strepsils :(). It sucked - I hope you feel better soon.

Yeah - don't worry. I'd be too embarrassed to stand up in court and testify to my own stupidity.

Yeah - I don't work Wednesdays so I should be fine when I get back. It's about 60% sickness, 40% lack of sleep - if it were just one or the other, I'd come in. And yeah - IKEA is vile. I got so pissed off last night I just slumped on one of their sofas and groaned "I hate it here", and some other poor woman who was walking past said she did too :)

That's exactly it - love/hate! Theoretically, I loathe the place, but then I also hate paying twice as much somewhere else.

That reminds me, I really need to decide on what to buy from Chilterns. It's just so hard. I want everything! :-)

Thanks for the tip :)

Definitely - I could barely pick, and I was only ordering so that I could get the catalogue. Now I have huge plans of setting up a massive plant farm in my back yard :) I'm mostly looking forward to the spaghetti gourds - I just don't quite believe in them.

Hope you start to feel better soon hun! **hugs**

Why do you hate Ikea so? I've got to ask, I'm all intrigued now, most people (myself included I must confess) rejoice in it :)

Where are you ordering your seeds from btw? I love gardening catalogues ^_^

Thanks :) I feel a bit better - some extra kip perked me up, but I think I might have some food allergy... hope it's not curry :(!

Heheh - no problem, 'cept I have to let you into one of my darkest secrets... I'm a freak of a female who absolutely hates shopping! I only do it as a last resort, and when you factor in my slight phobia of crowds, you'll often see me just turn around and walk out the store after 10 minutes. And the IKEA in Bristol is SO hectic!

www.chilternseeds.co.uk - they seem quite good, and come recommended by my own personal gardening guru, [livejournal.com profile] apel.I got a few bits from www.crocus.co.uk, but they're a bit pricey IMO.

I'll have to check chiltern seeds out :)

The garden in the one house I looked at is ripe for some serious gardening...I can't wait! ^_^

Ooo - let me know if you want a hand with the digging or anything. Seriously - I love that sort of thing :)

Maybe because it's full of clueless people and it's very, very easy to get lost in there. There's one a couple blocks from me, and I stil don't go there often because it tends to be stressful.

*nods* That's the thing I hate about shopping - loads of other people are so clumsy and clueless and damn purposeless about it. It's totally my own fault - I'm a bit sensitive and over-empathetic, and spend too long being courteous and plotting careful, helpful paths through with my trolley. Then (to make me sound less saintly :P), I get pissed off when someone cuts me up or squishes my toe.

I'm just not cut out for supermarkets.

Hehe...I love shopping, but Hmmm, I'm not really cut out for it I have to say. I'm better than I was... I no longer have panic attacks, and I can't remember the last time I had trolley rage :D

Mmm - I can totally identify with what you're saying. I'm way better - now I can actually grab some basics in a busy supermarket, whereas 5 years ago I would have turned around and walked straight out. But I don't actually enjoy buying things - I'm kind of apathetic like that - so I generally don't bother.
