Took a sick day - by the time I had to get up, I'd only had about two hours light sleep and I know for a fact that with 5 hours of passive meetings, today isn't going to be very productive. I think IKEA made me ill - perhaps I should sue?
It's a nice day. Sunny and all that. Oh - my seeds came too:
Honesty: Introduced from Europe some 400 years ago and being particularly popular in Victorian times, Honesty is well known for the silvery, moon-like remains of the seed cases that are so useful for drying and using in arrangements. Attractive bright purple flowers, May to July. 2½ ft.
Vegetable Spaghetti, Winter Squash, Gourd: This is a fascinating and interesting item. Looking and grown, as easily, just like a plump, pale yellow Marrow, the mature fruits are boiled for about 20 minutes and then cut in half. And, hey presto – you have a plateful of spaghetti to do with as you would that pasta, such as serve with a meat or tomato sauce or just with butter and seasoning.
Might make myself a new garden related user-pic :)

Date: 2004-01-13 04:03 am (UTC)Personally I ain't doing too terribly well today. I think I managed to get worse, and even picked up a new symptom. I seem to have lost my voice mostly (I''m guessing too much gunk stuck to my voice box).

*chuckle* gawd, I hope you're kidding. We get lots of lawsuits like that. People suing some driver because an accident he caused made them late for work and their boss yelling at them for being late caused them emotional distress. People suing because they spilled coffee on themselves and the person who gave it to them didn't warn them it was hot (that case was actually won, not most places put "contents are hot" printed on every cup... I'm waiting for someone to sue because they left their coffee sitting around until it got cold, but the cup still says its hot so its misleading information..). I get rather sick of hearing about them.

Yeah - don't worry. I'd be too embarrassed to stand up in court and testify to my own stupidity.

Date: 2004-01-13 10:36 am (UTC)Why do you hate Ikea so? I've got to ask, I'm all intrigued now, most people (myself included I must confess) rejoice in it :)
Where are you ordering your seeds from btw? I love gardening catalogues ^_^

Heheh - no problem, 'cept I have to let you into one of my darkest secrets... I'm a freak of a female who absolutely hates shopping! I only do it as a last resort, and when you factor in my slight phobia of crowds, you'll often see me just turn around and walk out the store after 10 minutes. And the IKEA in Bristol is SO hectic!

www.chilternseeds.co.uk - they seem quite good, and come recommended by my own personal gardening guru,
