Feb. 16th, 2004 08:46 pmFirstly, thanks to
fyatuk for the wicked book - it arrived in the post this morning, and it's beautiful. I didn't think there's be so many photos in it! I haven't finished reading it all yet, but thanks again for sending it.
I slacked on Sunday. Watched a lot of TV, snoozed and had wicked dreams about being on a beach. I also watched Ghost Ship and would like to state here and now that it was a steaming pile o' crap. It was bad before the last 5 minutes, but then all these released souls started streaming towards heaven, and I wanted to barf :P Sorry if you feel that spoiled it for you, but believe me, it really didn't. I don't like horror films any more, I've decided. The best that happens is that they're terrible, but these days I just find the good ones totally traumatising.
My car is fixed, and for £30. Oil breather pipe had worked loose, apparently. Or that's the likely cause.
Old English class was OK. The women there are still incredibly rude, IMO, but that's life. They're better than me at being rude, and I'm better than them at reading Anglo-Saxon English. Have made a resolution to possibly be more vain in the future - if I get a hairy upper lip after the menopause, I'm definitely going to wax or Immac.
Wicked sunset - purple/pink with a huge red sun and silver clouds. Sushi and mango for lunch - mmm!

Somewhere I've got a lovely one that I took from my garden - all purple and pink. If I find it, I'll let you know :) But sunsets are one of those things that I tend to remember rather than photgraph, I must admit. (I just remembered your memory/photo post - meant to answer that!) I think the best ones I've seen were (a) over the pacific, where I actually saw the sun moving down, and one in the winter near where I grew up (there are photos of the general area under "Cam Peak"), where all the hills were bathed in pink pearly mist. We had an eclipse a few years back - very neat. No photos though - I was too busy fryingmy retinas ;)
