Busy few days...
Feb. 24th, 2004 01:45 pmGot my hair cut on Saturday morning, as it seems to have been growing ridiculously fast. I could barely see out of it, so I had a huge chunk cut off. I'll probably stick with this hairdresser, as they've cut my hair twice without my actually hating it straight away.
Had about two hours to kill in Bristol before my OU tutorial, so investigated two shops - MasterShoe is an excellent source of DM boots, and H&M is good for the sort of plain cotton separates that I tend to favour. I'd been looking for plain fitted t-shirts for months. Hate shopping, so anything that streamlines the process is a huge success.
OU tutorial was somewhat dull. There's always one person that grinds on my nerves in these settings, and it's always for the same reason: they're one of those people that has to pass a slightly negative judgement on pretty much everything.
To make up for the lack of liveliness, and the impending doom (see below), I allowed a copy of FF X-2 to "fall" into my shopping basket when I went to Safeway, and spent the evening curled up playing that. When it started, I must admit that I though it was terrible - all girly and annoying, but it's grown on me. So much, in fact, that I spent most of Sunday playing it too :)
Well, most of Sunday that wasn't impending doom - had to visit my mother and sort more of her stuff out. She's being really childish about it all, but I maintained my serenity throughout the visit (depsite having to re-hygienify her flat) and didn't even get depressed. As mentioned above, S and I played FF all day, and I got tea cooked for me - mushroom and quorn pie and veg... nyum!
Monday I got to sleep in. Went to my english class in the afternoon, and nearly got my eardrum perforated by the noisy cow next to me. She is SO damn rude! Always interrupting, always correcting people (wrong herself most of the time!). Bah. Someone shoot me if I end up like that. Wandered around the "Making Faces" exhibition at the gallery and museum, munched muffins and tea, then headed to Las Iguanas (or something like that: http://www.iguanas.co.uk) for dinner with M, L and S.
Seriously busy week ahead - I have an assignment to do for the OU, plus other reading and stuff. I experimented with getting up and into work an hour earlier, so I'll have more time in the evening to do that damn essay. It was hard getting up at 6:30 though - the cat was all warm and snuggly and purring, but hopefully it will be done before the weekend.
