Walking

Must be getting fitter, as I seemed to manage a 12 mile walk yesterday with no ill effects. Although we did stop for a refuel at the Rose and Crown in Nympsfield, which does really delicious veggy soup.

Also suffered no ill effects from drinking from a cow trough, which is more remarkable really. Although, saying that, I have an unusually hardy approach to germs, and tend to blame over-sanitisation for most modern ills.

Other things I did at the weekend were mainly sleeping and drinking. Both of which were done to satisfaction.

The tiramisu at the Rose and Crown was outstanding :-)

You think all tiramisu is outstanding. Whatever you ate last was the best ever ;)

sleeping and drinking sound like a good weekend. Even if you meant drinking as in "from a cow trough" :D

If you can do 12 miles with a nice lunch, Utah will be fine - J is fond of snacking breaks so we will be well-fueled no matter how long we walk :) No veggie soup though - usually trail mix or sandwiches or energy bars, which are a bit less appetizing than soup and tiramisu!!

Will send you the tix info as soon as I get it - waiting to hear back from Frontier at the moment since I'd like to use a credit with them but they are dragging their feet about dates. /sigh...

ps thanks for your comments on my thread - I will respond about them there - but if I dont get to them for a bit just know they were very appreciated!!!

Nah - I meant drinking some nice wine, and some absinthe with my brother. The cow trough was just because I was teh stoopid and didn't take a drink on my walk.

I'm glad Utah sounds do-able - I walk quite slowly, but can do so for miles. But my ex was a nut who managed about 4 miles per hour over any terrain, whereas I manage about 2mph. Snacking breaks are good - you need little and often when you're on the big hikes. And I can do wonders with dried soya and stir-in sauces :)

I'll look forward to hearing about the tickets soon!

Looks like I'll have to step up my exercise schedule, depending on what you two had in mind for Utah. My own fault for not being on LJ much, I know. :) But if you're still interested, let me know the when and where around the last week of June!

Definitely interested - I was just dithering around waiting for [profile] zleetle to get her tickets, which would then galvanise me into getting my act together to email you.

I think we were aiming to go to Zion for the first weekend, and do some short hikes. And don't worry - I walk for miles, but only at the speed of a tomato coloured snail.

I'll mail you in the next day or so :)
